IPP3A - Do you collect personal information

indirectly?

With the IPP3A coming into force on 1st May 2026 we have a blog to explain it and how it may impact 2Shakes users. If you indirectly collect information from others you will need to be satisfied that the person whose information is collected has been told.

To comply with IPP3A you might describe any potential indirect personal information sharing in your client agreements or engagement letters and consider updating your Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy too. Read our IPP3A blog to find out more.

Agreement Font - The voting results are in!

In our last update we asked for feedback on changing our standard font style from its current Times New Roman font to Helvetica font.

Results were overwhelmingly for Helvetica!

  • 3.5% didn't mind either

  • 3.5% for Times New Roman

  • 93% for Helvetica

Generally the feedback was that Helvetica was more modern, cleaner and easier to read. Here is a word cloud of all the feedback for Helvetica.

2Tips

IR Authority - Include All Roles

In our last update we advised you of changes to IR Technical guidance for authority to act (OS25/3). If you missed it you can read the whole article here.

A key point is that IR needs to see All Roles the signatory is signing as. It effectively provides the 'power that binds them' to the entity they are signing for. 2Shakes will pull the role of director of companies in for you when you use the NZBN search.  But the role is not available through the NZBN for trust or partnerships, so you need to manually add them in.

  • Add a role to signatories of Partnerships or Trusts in 2Shakes.  2Shakes allows you to type in multiple roles in the same field to cover all entity types and roles on agreements.

  • Check all existing trust and partnership agreements. If you do NOT have the position correctly included, you should renew the agreement to include it.
